Forty Fabulous Fables: The Dog And The Wolf

My dad passed away last year after a terrible battle with cancer. One thing we never got around to doing was publishing a book of poems that he wrote and Lauren and I illustrated. We had done an ebook but the illustrations were just scans of very rough sketches and the company that handled it made it look really cheap and it didn’t do very well. I always felt bad that I didn’t put more effort into them. So I’ve started colouring them and trying to give them the attention they deserve, cause the poems that go with them are great. They are based on Aesop’s fables. You know, the ones that have the morals at the end like “look before you leap”.

So since today is his birthday, as a birthday present for my dad I’d like to post the first one; The Dog And The Wolf in hopes that at least some people can start to read them. They deserve to be read.

Morning Glory

The late Jurassic, 150 million years ago. A towering Brachiosaurus goes for a stroll with the morning sun low in the sky. A troupe of Compsognathus chase their breakfast through the forest, chittering excitedly to each other.
